Ecstatic Paint

Weaving threads from pop music, decorative art, complexity theory, Jungian psychology and Eastern philosophy, my abstract paintings connect color and texture to sound. Inviting the accidental, through pours, using gravity and the use of resist and stamping techniques, this open-ended project began in 2003.  Like jazz music, my materials continue to reveal limitless possibilities for improvisation, echoing the chaotic beauty of life.

Inviting viewers to look at abstract paintings while imagining the sound of each color or painting intensifies their focus.  They release themselves to a lucid interplay between the senses, gaining heightened perception about color’s communicative power.
